The Royal Botanic Gardens, like the rest of Edinburgh, is famed for converting into a winter paradise over the holidays.

While it may seem a little early to be thinking about Christmas, many people are already making plans, looking for things to do, and booking excursions to the famed gardens.

Christmas at the Botanics will be returning to the city, and it has been announced that it will be larger and better than before.

Christmas at the Botanics transforms the gardens into a stunning display of colour and light.

It started on November 25 and will run till 2 January 2022, so be sure to book your tickets ASAP.

Among the most recent installations announced for this year are:

  • Digital Rain – An immersive installation by Bespoke Lighting and Video, featuring LED pixels that ‘rain down’ on those below to create a shimmering shower of light.
  • Fireflies in the Woods – An enchanting installation from Electric Foundry, containing 100 points of light that twist through the trees to create a magical woodland wonderland.
  • Sea of Light – An enthralling mix of sound and light technology, from award-winning company ITHACA, that flows across the landscape in spectacular, glittering waves.

Reduced capacity and a one-way system will be in place to apply by current Scottish Government recommendations for the comfort of visitors coming together to celebrate the holiday season. Throughout the run, health and safety procedures in place to safeguard visitors will be monitored.

There is so much to experience here so make sure you pay them a visit,
