On Lamb Holm in the Orkney Islands, there is an elegant Catholic chapel known as the Italian Chapel. It was erected by Italian prisoners of war who were imprisoned on the previously deserted island while constructing the Churchill Barriers to the east of Scapa Flow during World War II.
